Need Formal Literature Review for Provided Research Topics/Variables

This Lit review is one component to several in a statistics research paper. I need someone who is EXPERIENCED – MINIMUM MASTERS DEGREE LEVEL ANALYSIS who can properly complete this section per directions in APA citation. I simply do not have the time to put this section together.

My statistics data set topic revolves around: Recidivism of Felons on Probation

Dependent Variable: Recidivism of felons on probation

Independent Variables:

– Race

– Criminal Offense (type of crime)

– Length of probation sentence

– Race and Length of Probation (interaction variable)

– Criminal Offense and Length of Probation (interaction variable)

Basically, I need someone who knows how to do a well written lit review, following the direction below and who is familiar with areas of statistics to decipher relevant studies to use and ones not to use.

I need these grouped by variables with arguments for and against my hypotheses based on prior research and studies. I have 5 variables to discuss. I am thinking that I need at least 2 sources for each argument so 2 for each “is” and 2 for each “is not”, therefore, 5 sources x 2 = minimum of 20 total sources. I predict about 5 pages total between discussion on the 5 variables and dependent variable but if it exceeds this please let me know, and upon my approval, ill accomodate and be generous with my tip at the end to compensate if the review is relevant.

Example:

Section 1) Discuss prior research/previous studies that concluded:

There IS significance that race impacts recidivism rates of felons on probation (at least 2 studies/sources)

vs.

studies that concluded that there is NOT significance that race impacts recidivism rates of felons on probation (at least 2 studies/sources)

Section 2) Discuss prior research/previous studies that concluded:

There IS significance that the type of criminal offense impacts recidivism rates of felons on probation (at least 2 studies/sources)

vs.

studies that concluded that there is NOT significance that the type of criminal offense impacts recidivism rates of felons on probation. (at least 2 studies/sources)

Section 3) Discuss prior research/previous studies that concluded:

There IS significance that race impacts recidivism rates of felons on probation (at least 2 studies/sources)

vs.

studies that concluded that there is NOT significance that race impacts recidivism rates of felons on probation. (at least 2 studies/sources)

Section 4) Discuss prior research/previous studies that concluded:

There IS significance between the type of criminal offense and the length of offenders probation sentence(together) on recidivism rates of felons on probation (at least 2 studies/sources)

vs.

studies that concluded that there IS NOT significance between the type of criminal offense and the length of offenders probation sentence (together) on recidivism rates of felons on probation. (at least 2 studies/sources)

Section 5) Discuss prior research/previous studies that concluded:

There IS significance that race and the length of the offenders probation sentence (together) has a significant impact on the recidivism rates of felons. (at least 2 studies/sources)

vs.

studies that concluded that There is NOT significance that race and the length of the offenders probation sentence (together) has a significant impact on the recidivism rates of felon. (at least 2 studies/sources)

PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES/ INSTRUCTIONS ATTACHED AND BELOW. This provides you with exactly how the above discussion should take place. Again, this is for a STATISTICS paper so relevant studies/articles revolving around prior research is the focus. I will need to discuss in the sections that follow how these previous studies relate to my theory and dataset results.

  • Literature review Requirements

– In this section, you will discuss competing theories within the literature that address your dependent variable. It should convey the breadth of the theories and findings on your dependent variable. Focus on synthesizing and identifying common themes among the research, both theoretical and empirical. Also, highlight important differences among the works you review.

– Your literature must include several (min, 20) scholarly sources (i.e., refereed journal articles or books). You should focus on those that most influential (i.e., those that appear most frequently in other literature reviews or have high citation counts in the Web of Knowledge).

– Your literature review will need to identify control variables, so you should not focus exclusively on your independent variable. It is certainly appropriate and advisable to discuss this kind of work.

– What this discussion should generate is a sense of what puzzles there are remaining in your topic area. What does the current research leave undone?

There are any number of guides you can consult on how to write a literature review. Here is a link for one of the first ones that pops up in Google: https://politicalscience.uncc.edu/sites/politicalscience.uncc.edu/files/media/docs/litreviews.pdf.( I attached this for you) Another approach is to pay attention the articles that you are reviewing. You will notice that each has a literature review after the introduction and they will likely be quite similar in what they do and how they do it.

General writing guidelines:

– All citations should conform to APA guidelines on the use of parentheticals. Alos, while quotations are acceptable if properly done and cited, it should be used sparingly as the exercise is designed to assess your writing.

– As word processing software identifies spelling and grammar errors for you, you should remedy them prior to submission.

– You should avoid first person statements such as “I think,” “I feel,” or “I believe.” First person statements that refer to your actions as a researcher are acceptable (e.g., “I specific and interaction and find that ____”; “I hypothesize that ___.”).

– This is formal writing. As such, you should not use colloquial language or adopt a conversational tone. As a caution, rhetorical questions invite the reader to disagree with you and offer a different answer. Contractions should be avoided in academic writing.

Submission guidelines:

You will submit your papers as Word documents – double-spaced in 12pt Times New Roman font with 1” margins.
