Option Two: Create a PowerPoint or Prezi on the identification, evaluation, and placement process for a child suspected of having a learning disability at the elementary school level.  Make sure that each section includes how the parents are involved in each step of this process.

The presentation must have an introduction with a title page slide and the following:

a.A minimum of three slides describing how a student is initially identified or suspected of having a disability.  One slide must describe the parent involvement in the identification phase.
b.A minimum of three slides explaining the steps in the evaluation process.  One slide must describe the parent involvement in the evaluation process.
c.A minimum of three slides explaining how educational placement is determined and how resource support (such as speech therapist or reading specialist) is incorporated into that plan according to IDEA. One slide must describe parent involvement in the educational placement decision.
d.A final reflective slide on what you learned during this process and how it will benefit you professionally.
e.At least three scholarly, peer- reviewed sources for support included in the reference slide.
f.The presentation must be 10 to 12 slides and be in APA format.
